Description

The S50 Intensive Care Unit is robust, reliable, easy to use and can be quickly set up for emergency cases, it is suitable for small animals such as rodents, birds, puppies and kittens, it is also large enough to accommodate a small dog or queen and her litter.

Primary function:
The S50 provides a safe, warm and hygienic recovery chamber. Heating is held constant by an adjustable digital controller and the actual temperature in the enclosure is digitally displayed. Air is gently fan circulated through a dust filter to ensure sufficient filtered fresh air and even temperature. The air circulation system maintains slight positive pressure in the chamber and expels air from around the door to inhibit airborne bacteria reaching the patient. A removable water reservoir, complete with evaporating block, is fitted to the underside of the ceiling and can be used to reduce the risk of patients dehydrating during treatment. The rate of fresh air exchange can be adjusted with vent control mounted on the door. Replacement filter sets and evaporating blocks are available.

Functional Practicality
Busy vet practices need equipment to be space efficient, easily cleaned, durable and quick to set up with the minimum of training. The S50 meets these requirements through sensible but innovative design. With hygiene a top priority, the S50 has been carefully designed to make cleaning as easy as possible. The lower half of the cabinets and doors are removable allowing them to be scrubbed and immersed. It is also easy to wipe clean the mirror finish of the ABS plastic upper cabinet and the fan guard is simply detached to allow access to clean the fan. Even the heater is encased in a metal tube making cleaning easy. The control circuit is housed away from the chamber for reliability.

Supplied with UK or Euro plug as requested – please ensure you specify at checkout.

Protected by Biomaster antimicrobial additives:

Hygiene in intensive care units is of vital importance, to reduce risk of infection and contamination all Vetario intensive care units incorporate Biomaster Antimicrobial Protection into the cabinets during manufacture. Biomaster Protection is embedded within the plastic itself* which prevents the growth of harmful bacteria helping to provide the optimum environment for a speedy recovery. Proven to quickly reduce bacterial growth by up to 99.99% Biomaster Protection is an  effective means of reducing the risk of cross infection from MRSA, E.coli, Campylobacter, Legionella, Salmonella and many other harmful species of bacteria. Click here for more details…

Each Vetario S40, S50, T40M and T50M is fitted with a water reservoir which humidifies air as it is drawn into the heater enclosure. Use a solution of Brinsea Disinfectant (1 part concentrate to 100 parts water) in the water reservoir (pan) to inhibit bacterial build-up. It is recommended that the reservoir is topped up with solution daily to reduce dehydration. The evaporating block and filters can be carefully washed by hand but they do need changing regularly.

Disinfecting tip:

Please make sure that disinfectant is thoroughly rinsed off plastic parts after cleaning and avoid alcohol based solutions to avoid gradual embrittlement of plastic parts.

We have come across a small number of instances of plastic parts of the Vetario Intensive Care Units and TLC brooders becoming degraded, brittle and breaking – particularly around the screws on the door hinges) due to the action of some disinfectants. To avoid this don’t use disinfectants containing alcohol and take care that all traces of disinfectants or cleaning agents are rinsed away with water after cleaning, especially around the hinge screws.
